The Old White Horse Inn is situated in the west part of the town known as Old Main Street, next to the A650. Famous for being the original part of the street with its quaint properties and the River Aire to the rear, in the sixteenth century Queen Elizabeth I owned the whole street, leasing the inn out for sixteen pennies per annum .
At the rear of the inn is a cobbled courtyard with flower beds backing down to the River Aire and the picturesque Ireland Bridge. Here the customers can while away the hours in pleasant weather. To the front of the inn is the Leeds- Liverpool canal with the famous Five-Rise Locks only a two minute walk away.

Football nights are always popular especially England games and the inn and courtyard are packed giving a wonderful match atmosphere.
